Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatments

Your entire face can benefit from a PRP Treatment!

On the forehead, PRP works great in removing wrinkles and frown lines.

On the cheeks, PRP restores lost volume and plumps the cheek.

It can help fill-in sunken eyes, those areas we often refer to as dark circles.

Helps eliminate acne scars and stretch marks.

PRP is also a treatment for hair restoration and regrowth.

What is the difference between PRP and regular dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane?

There are two main differences between them, the time it takes for the effects to be seen and the duration it lasts. PRP stimulates collagen growth and tissue regeneration from your own red blood cells. Therefore, the results take longer to see, but the effects last a long time. Juvederm and Restylane do not use your own cells and the "fillers" provide instant results. PRP and Dermal Fillers may be used together for both an instant and longer lasting effect.

How long does it take to recover from a PRP treatment and what are the side effects?

It takes about a week to recover completely from potential bruising, redness or swelling. Most people do recover quickly and may resume normal activities immediately. There are very few side effects associated with PRP treatments because you are using your own cells. These treatments have been used for years in orthopedic surgeries and are very safe and effective.

What can I expect during my PRP visit?

A PRP treatment can be completed in 90 minutes. When you arrive a small vial of blood is drawn, similar to the volume you need drawn for routine blood work. The blood is then "spun" in a centrifuge to separate the special, powerful components from the rest of the blood. Once this unique mixture is obtained, Lori will inject it into the areas you want to improve. This will activate important powerful growth factors and stem cells. The injection experience is very similar to Botox or fillers.

How long does a PRP treatment last?

While there is no anti-aging treatment available that is permanent, a PRP treatment effects can last anywhere from nine months to two years. To achieve the best results, we suggest to patients a treatment plan of 3 treatments that is administered in 4 to 8 week intervals. During the first month, a noticeable improvement in skin texture may be seen.
